Give US our daily bread

Recently on my way to work it kinda smacked me in the face how messed up my prayer life is. I was praying about all the issues I was going to deal with that day. You know, give me wisdom, strength, the grace to not punch someone in the eye, etc. It was one of those times that you just know God is trying to show you something. I'm not saying that I don't pray for others, but I've tended to pray for myself more than for others.  Jesus said we should pray " let your kingdom come to earth, let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread and forgive us as we forgive those who have wronged us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Yours is the kingdom, the power, the glory, Amen "

He didn't tell us to use the word me, my or I.  Then I immediately thought about the verse that says For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them .
I think the Holy Spirit was showing me that even when I am focused on the things that are bothering me or tempting me I can still pray us prayers instead of focusing on just me. After all we are all going through very similar troubles and temptations. When God led the Isrealites out of Egypt they were together. The disciples in the upper room were together, but they were seldom together after they received the power of the spirit because they had work to do. That same spirit created a powerful connection that went with them through more trouble than we can imagine.

So now I've been catching myself in mid sentence changing my me prayers to us prayers and feeling so much better about it !
